There is no account, and no sign-in

You do not register, and we do not ask for your name, email or password. Nothing you do here is tied to an identity we hold.

What stays on your own device

Saved recipes, community posts, showcase photos, your chosen shopping country and whether you have passed the opening screen are all kept in your browser's own storage, under these names:

This data never leaves your device. We cannot read it, it is not backed up, and it is not shared between your phone and your computer. Clearing your browser's site data for this domain deletes all of it permanently.

The names still begin with "savora" because that was this site's earlier name. Renaming the keys would silently discard everything readers have already saved.

What our server sees

When you open the shopping links on a recipe, the site asks our own /api/geo endpoint which country you appear to be in, so it can offer shops that deliver where you are. That endpoint reads one value provided by our host, returns it to your browser and stores nothing. It is marked never-cache so one visitor's answer can never be served to another.

Our host, Vercel, keeps ordinary web server logs — IP address, browser, page requested, time — as every web server does. We do not analyse them and we do not build profiles from them. Vercel's own privacy terms apply to those logs.

How page views are counted

We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It records the page, the country, and the kind of device — nothing else. It sets no cookies, stores no identifier on your device, and cannot tell one visitor from another or the same visitor on two days. There is nothing in it that could be linked back to you.

There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no advertising or profiling script anywhere on this site. Google Search Console also reports the search terms that led people here, in aggregate, and never identifies a person.

Advertising

There are no adverts on this site and no ad network is loaded. If that ever changes, this section will be rewritten before the first advert appears, and it will name the network and describe the cookies it uses.

Shopping links, and how we earn

Ingredient lists link out to supermarkets and shops in your country. Some of those links carry an affiliate tag, which tells the shop you arrived from here and may earn us a small commission at no extra cost to you. Links that carry a tag are marked as sponsored in the page's own HTML.

Following such a link takes you to that retailer, and from then on their privacy policy applies, not ours. We are not told what you looked at or what you bought — only, eventually, whether a commission was earned.

Videos

Cook-along and showcase videos are embedded from youtube-nocookie.com, YouTube's privacy-enhanced host. It does not write tracking cookies when the page loads — only if you actually press play. From that moment Google's privacy policy applies to your viewing.

Photographs

Every recipe photograph is a freely-licensed image from Wikimedia Commons, and each one is credited with its photographer and licence on the recipe. The files are served from this domain, so opening a page tells Wikimedia nothing about you.

Children

This is a cookbook and it is suitable for anyone, but it is not directed at children and we knowingly collect nothing from anybody, of any age.

Your choices

Because nothing is stored on our side, there is no account to delete and no export to request. Clearing this site's data in your browser removes everything the site has kept. If you want to ask us anything about this page, write to shejpteltdsg@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it. Material changes — a new third party, or anything that collects data we do not collect today — will be described here, not quietly folded in.
